Facebook Founder Gives Tour Of Home, Promptly Moves
Mark Zuckerberg has never been known for being normal, but the youthful internet entrepreneur is taking his love of privacy to new levels now, selling his home just days after giving Oprah a guided tour of his old house and watching images of his abode flood the net as “real estate porn”[1]. The term “real estate porn” is usually used to refer to over-the-top, ultra-luxurious real estate owned by the excessively rich and/or famous. So it’s a little surprising that Zuckerberg’s house, which is certainly lovely but not over-the-top – it’s characterized as a “gorgeous four-bedroom with charm and functionality” in the rental ad – would have gotten that much publicity.
For Zuckerberg, however, even a little appears to be too much. So he’s made the move out of the old house and into a slightly larger five-bedroom that is half a mile closer to Facebook headquarters. And, in the process, he’s talked someone at Google into removing the Google “Streetview” of his new street from the internet as well. While many celebrity reporters hoped that Zuckerberg’s willingness to give a television tour of his home indicated “acceptance” of his celebrity status, it appears that actually it was just a step in the moving process.
Zuckerberg’s presence in that particular neighborhood along with other tech-celebs and the proximity to Google and Facebook headquarters makes the location extremely desirable, with relatively small properties renting for amounts in excess of $7,000 a month. Do you think that celebrity real estate is worth following for an investor, or is it just a hobby for people with too much time on their hands?

If following celebrities is your thing and you are into real estate investing, why not use that interest to profit from as long as you do not play unfair in any way.
