With a looming divorce knocking on her door, actress-singer Cheryl Cole is putting her Surrey mansion in the market and is scheduled to head in western London for a new residence that would fit her soon-to-be single again status.
Sources said that the move definitely aimed for the downgrade path as the “Parachute’ singer would not be lugging along her equally popular estranged husband, Chelsea player Ashley Cole.
The celebrity couple split some six months ago amid allegations of infidelity on the part of Ashley and the imminent formality of the separation apparently convinced Cheryl to dump her marital home in favor of a simpler place London and at the same time, better meet her pressing work commitments.
An article published in The Sun said that the actress is currently on the prowl for a smaller space in exchange for the spacious house she used to share with Ashley and another factor in the ongoing house search is the prospect house’s proximity to Heathrow Airport.
The Sun source explained that Cheryl would not require a big estate at this time and top on the actress’ priorities is her new home’s accessibility to the London airport so she could easily travel when needed.
The nine-bedroom property was acquired by the Cole couple in 2007 where Cheryl and Ashley lived until their celebrated separation.
The mansion also housed the singer’s mother, Joan, who stayed in an adjacent structure and was fortunately present when Ashley left home and when the 27-year-old star was struck with malaria during a holiday in Tanzania.
Mother and daughter are expected to stay together in a new property as Cheryl further recuperates from the disease.
News reports were also ripe that the Girls Aloud star would be on a hunt too for a property in Hollywood, which she could conveniently set up as a permanent base when the celebrity starts her series of appearances in the United States.
Cheryl sued for a five-week break following her contracting of malaria but is set to resume her judging role on ‘The X Factor’ this week, the hugely popular UK pop star search show of Simon Cowell.
