By the time that JW Marriot Marquis Miami hotel opens its doors in October this year, the 50,000 square foot indoor and lifestyle entertainment center is being touted as the site of future games for five of the more popular sports in the United States – basketball, tennis, golf, bowling and billiards; at least for the city’s game enthusiasts.

Florencia Tabeni, the hotel’s general manager, said that the two-story facility boasts of a 10,000 square foot NBA-style arena, a competition-sized tennis court, a golf training center and a technologically-advance bowling center, plus some more offerings of health and lifestyle services.

Tabeni enthused that the 19th and 20th floors entertainment center was put up in a sustained effort of the hotel to meet the unique recreational interests of its every guest.

She added that the new facility would definitely advance the hotel’s thrust of pushing forward the kind of world-class services that Marriot could offer.

Tabeni said guests who are inclined with the arts could relish and relax on Marriot’s art-inspired 44-room Hotel Beaux Arts Miami, which is located right on top of the hotel and would mainly function as a retreat center for the urban dwellers.

The entertainment complex itself is haven for the latest technology that a recreational center could offer where designers adeptly integrated the advancements into leisurely and even competitive activities that the center’s sports facilities could offer.

Hotel guests could easily access the center’s 3D media room in the 19th floor and if they want to take a dip in style, the adjacent modern pool deck would be an excellent fit with its offerings of heated stainless steel pool surface and whirlpool designed to soothe the body.

For the golf aficionados, the popular Jim McLean Golf School would be at hand where guests could take advantage of the services of competent golf instructors with attending facilities such as golf simulators, putting greens, lounge area and a commanding view of the city.

Located right at the heart of the complex is the freshly-minted sports arena that doubles as a basketball and tennis court with its multi-purpose portable floor system, which means that with some tweaking by the center’s maintenance crew, the Miami Heat or Roger Federer would be able to play on the arena, at a separate occasion of course.

Yet for those seeking to enjoy sports but do not wish to sweat it out, the center could definitely entice them with its Billiard Room where smooth pushing of that solid ball should be expected from its luxurious Brunswich Treviso pool table.

For those who want to grab and throw that solid and heavier ball, the hotel’s Virtual Bowling Alley should be the fitting place for them where conventional games were fused with the cyber world, enabling gamers to explore the limitless possibilities that a ‘virtual bowling world’ could offer.

In order to complement the entertainment complex’ athletic offerings, the Marriott’s 20th floor has been reserved as a sanctuary for wellness and rejuvenation with its array of all-embracing spa services, beauty boutiques and state-of-the-art fitness center.

Also, the 41-floor hotel, located in Metropolitan Miami or The Met, would soon feature a 20,000 square foot Grand Ballroom, which would be complemented by the French/American restaurant DB Bistro Moderne, owned and operated by award-wining Chef Daniel Boulud.

General Manager Tabeni expressed confidence that the hotel would emerge as the city’s next urban destination with its distinct offerings of sports, lifestyle and entertainment options that would cater to the recreational needs of business travelers frequenting Miami.
